Business ideas come from various sources, and the planning of my own wedding fuelled my imagination.
Coming from a background of event coordination I had thought organising my own wedding would a breeze, However, it wasn't long before I realised that to pull together a 'picture perfect', 'chic' wedding, was not going to be an easy task.
There were so many factors involved - choosing the perfect gown; styling the overall wedding party, deciding on the theme of the day ensuring it flowed effortlessly throughout; designing and making my own invitations and place cards, obtaining and comparing quotes from the many different suppliers; organising and designing the layout of the venues and settings for both the ceremony and reception; choosing menus and selecting the most appropriate wines to compliment the food; making the necessary travel and/or transport arrangements for not only ourselves, but our family and friends also, selecting the flowers for bouquets, buttonholes and table arrangements; researching the 'best' band to compliment the 'mood'; selecting the right 'style' of Celebrant to conduct the ceremony…. to the engagement of the most 'perfect' photographer to capture one of the most memorable and romantic days of our lives... Absolutely EVERY detail was critical! However, as it turned out, the effort was well rewarded as our wedding day was a dream and everyone enjoyed it. The feedback was incredible! But what was it that made it so different?
It was a destination wedding – at Noosa! We were lucky as our friends and family decided to make a holiday out of it and join us for the entire week leading up to our big day. We had sensational weather, organised many fun activities, and met up for dinner at a different restaurant each night. Everywhere we went, we bumped into someone we knew, it was fantastic! Our wedding day was the culmination of a fun and exciting week of activity and entertainment with all of our loved ones, it was perfect... To this day, our wedding is still recorded as 'one of the best' our family and friends have ever been to.
Our wonderful day captured the imagination of our friends, and then 'friends of friends' as I was being asked to help co-ordinate their special days. It appeared that my insight, vision, exceptional organisation skills, combined with my own sense of style, was a natural talent worth sharing with others. Hence…. the birth of Leá Bella Creative!
